Paleokastritsa

Paleokastritsa is a village located at the west side of the island, at an approximately 24km drive from Corfu’s airport. It’s probably one of the most famous destinations on the island. Paleokastritsa means “little old castle”, referring to the nearby Angelokastro and it has been inhabited since ancient times.

Paleokastritsa has been and still is a very popular touristic destination. There are many little bays, caves, rocky hills with rich vegetation, crystal clear waters. The green and blue view is enough to captivate anyone. You can find all sorts of facilities and accommodation in Paleokastritsa, vehicle rentals, boat rentals, restaurants and bars at amazing viewpoints, souvenir shops and lots of resorts. One of the most famous sites at Paleokastritsa is the monastery/museum at the top of the hill, dating back to the 13^th century.

Paleokastritsa’s bays vary in sand and pebbles, warm and cold waters. Snorkeling is very popular due to the reef that surrounds the beaches. Near Paleokastritsa you can visit Ermones, Lakones, Liapades, Doukades, Skripero.
